How does it work?

Your phone is the key to your building and home. After you register in the app, you will receive the building PIN and the key for your home in the app.

How do I register my phone to use it as a key?

Before your arrival, you will receive an email to register your phone. This e-mail contains a code. Enter this code under the My keys button.

How do I open the lock/knob of my property?

The lock on the house does not open automatically, you have to unlock the black knob with the app on your phone and then turn to the right or left. Depending on whether the lock is on the left or right of the door. See on the course how it works. It differs for an Apple and Android phone.

Where can I find the pin code for general doors?

After registering your phone, you can find the weekly changing PIN by clicking the "My keys" button on the front page of your app once you have selected your building. To use the PIN: Tap in the 6 digits followed by #.

Do I need an internet connection to open the door of my house?

No, you don't need to be connected to the internet to open your door. If internet is very limited, you can also switch to "aeroplane mode" to open your door.

How do I know what data I have access to?

On the main page of your building, you will find the "My keys" button. Here you can see from when to when you have access. This information is only visible if your phone is registered.

Can I buy a new phone and register this phone?

Yes, you can register a new device at any time via the registration page in the app for your building. The last device you register is the one that will work. You can only register ONE device. The 10-digit code you received is valid for your entire stay.

Can I replace the SIM card in the phone?

Yes, you can change the SIM card, your phone will still work as a key. So you can register your phone when you are still in your home country and change the SIM card when you are in the Netherlands.

Can I get a second mobile key?

Yes, using the KEYFRIENDS option in the MY KEYS section, you can share a key with a neighbour or friend. They can then open your home if you lose your phone. You can share the key with 1 person outside your location and with up to 5 people in your own building.

Is it safe?

All your information sent over the internet is encrypted. In addition to encryption, several other security measures are used to ensure that only people with a registered device can open a door.
